National Cryptologic Museum - Lunch at Mamma Roma's - THIS TRIP IS FULL

The Women of Lockerbie takes place seven years after the 1988 disaster in which an American airliner was destroyed over Lockerbie, Scotland, apparently by a terrorist bomb. The Livingstons have come to Lockerbie for a memorial service that is being held for the families of the victims. They meet the women of Lockerbie who are determined to convert an act of hatred into an act of love by washing and returning the clothes to the victims families. The Women of Lockerbie is a powerful and moving poetic dramaan affirmation about how the human spirit triumphs over evil.

National Anthem and Voice of Bowie Auditions

The City will hold open auditions for individuals or groups to perform the National Anthem at City special events and for those interested in being the stage announcer at the Memorial Day Parade, Bowiefest, 4th of July and the International Festival.

Auditions for the National Anthem will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall (15901 Excalibur Road) on Saturday, March 2, 2019 beginning at 9 a.m. Participants must be prepared to perform the National Anthem a cappella for a judging panel.

Auditions for the Voice of Bowie will begin at approximately 11 a.m. Candidates will be asked to read from a prepared script for a judging panel. The chosen performer(s) will be invited to perform at various City-sponsored special events. For information or to schedule an audition, contact Special Events Manager Matt Corley.

2019 Hall of Honor Nomination Deadline

All 2019 Hall of Honor nominations must be submitted at City Hall by 5 p.m. on March 4, 2019. The nomination must include:

- A completed nomination form
- A letter from the nominator explaining specific contributions that the nominee made to the City of Bowie and outlining the effects these contributions have had on the community.
-Three letters of reference from individuals, in addition to the nominator, confirming the nominees contributions to the City of Bowie. No more than one of these letters may be from a family member of the nominee. None of these may be from a family member of the nominator.
