Description:
Visit the Coutts Museum of Art from Noon to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23 for a special treat! Fiber artist Mistee Gabel will be demonstrating wool spinning. You will also get a chance to try your hand at spinning wool!

Mistee lives in Minnesota, where she offers "Sheep to Sweater". She is very active in the Farm Market community where she makes soap, spins wool, and sells the produce she grows at home.

The Coutts Museum of Art is a 501(c)3 non-profit institution aimed at supporting art and art education throughout El Dorado, the region, and its visitors. We are located at 110 N. Beginning Crochet

This Beginning Crochet class will cover a brief history of the craft, different yarns with samples of each, and commonly used tools needed. Students will learn basic crochet stitches such as chain, single crochet, and double crochet; they will then use a beginner pattern used to make a basic granny square. Cornwell Twins in Concert at Park Avenue Baptist Church

The Cornwell Twins will be at Park Avenue Baptist Church, 1101 South Arthur on Sunday, May 5 during morning worship at 10:455 a.m. and for a concert at 7 pm that evening. The community is invited to all events. A free-will offering will be taken at the concert.
Blain and Boyd Cornwell are twin brothers born in Athens, Ohio. The Cornwells wor very effectively in an evangelistic ministry combining team preaching, singing and song leading. Their goal is to combine their special talents with those in the church for the purpose of encouraging the saints and saving the lost. Since 1978 Blaine and Boyd have traveled all over the United States proclaiming Christ in revivals, in school and in many congregations.

City Commission Meeting

The City Commission meets twice each month, on the first and third Mondays, at 6:30 PM CST. The meetings are open to the public and held in the Commission Room of City Hall at 220 East First in El Dorado. For those who cannot attend, the meetings are shown LIVE on cable channel 7, as well as videotaped and rebroadcasted at 10:30 AM and 7:30 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday following the meeting. The meetings can also be viewed online.

The governing body is comprised of four City Commissioners and one Mayor, who presides over the council meetings. The City Commissioners are elected every four years, on a two year rotating schedule. Every two years, the mayor and two of the commissioners are elected. The governing body serves the public and welcomes public comments.
