Animal Shelter's Tuesdays hours change

Effective Tuesday, May 7, 2019, the Everett Animal Shelter will open later in the day each Tuesday, at 2 p.m. instead of 11 a.m. The shelter will remain open until 5 p.m., and will serve the public seven days a week, excluding holidays. Hours will remain the same all other days: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Got broken stuff? Toss it? No Way! Bring your broken stuff to the Repair Caf in Everett! Repair Cafs are all about repairing things (together). At the Repair Cafe, youll find tools and materials to help you make any repairs you need. Youll also find expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields. Bring your broken items from home and let's fix them together. Repairable items could include: clothes, small appliances, bicycles, home decor, electronics, computers, toys and more! This event is free and open to all Snohomish County residents. Pre-registration (using the contact information below) is recommended, so that you'll know what parts to bring. This event is made possible with support from: WSU Snohomish County Extension and Snohomish County Public Works Solid Waste Division.

PACK = Puppies/AdultCats/Kittens, what more can we say theyre adorable, and they need fostering for a variety of reasons: age/weight/socialization; illness or injury recovery; mamas and babies, and the list goes on. This is a no obligation training, just come and learn about our PACK Foster program to see if its right for you. Its a great way for kids, who are too young to volunteer in the shelter, to start learning about animal care and behavior. A lot of times we send puppies and kittens into foster care for socialization the youth are great for helping with socialization! There is no paperwork to complete ahead of time; just show up. We look forward to seeing you and having you join our team!

Boaters Safety Course - "Adventures in Boating"

The "Adventures in Boating" course is taught by officers and volunteers of the Everett Police Marine Operations Unit and certified by WA State Parks & Recreation. Completion of this course is mandated to receive a boater education card - which is required for all vessel operators born in 1955 or later.

On May 4, more than 350 Comcast NBCUniversal employees from the Everett area, along with their families, friends and community partners, will contribute to local volunteer projects as part of Comcasts 18th annual Comcast Cares Day.

Comcasts main project in Everett will directly support those living without shelter or who are in transitional housing by partnering with Interfaith Association of Northwest Washington, a local nonprofit that provides shelter to families experiencing homelessness and helps them build the skills necessary for independence.

Groups of Comcast volunteers will work to make Interfaith Associations Family Shelter more comfortable and inviting by cleaning, organizing and painting the common areas inside the shelter, while others will help with various landscaping activities, repair fences and renovate the outdoor childrens play area.

We want all the animals in the shelter to find their forever home. While they wait for that to happen, our shelter is a pretty awesome place for them to be. But wed rather the senior dogs not wait it out in the shelter. We think they've earned being in a loving home while they wait to get adopted. Join our Senior Dog Foster training and help us with that mission. This is a no obligation training. We encourage everyone to come and learn about the program, and help us get these sweet ol dogs out of the shelter and into the comfort of a home. We hope to see you at the training! It is a no obligation training. There is no pre-registration or paperwork to do ahead of time - just show up!

Everett OEM Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS) - HAM Radio Group
