New exhibition at the Modernism Museum-- Space Oddities: The Sequel

The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020.
Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museums exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum.
A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available. Learn how to use Excel to organize numbers and text in a spreadsheet format. Excel spreadsheets can be used for budgets, work and school projects, record-keeping, lists, inventories, and more.

By the end of this class you should be able to create and format a spreadsheet; enter and edit data; and use basic formulas to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in a horizontal row or vertical column.

Attendees will use PCs in the W.T. Bland Public Library Technology Lab, which have Microsoft Excel 2016 installed.

The New World Music Band: Caribbean Salsa, Live at the Museum!

Modernism Museum Mount Dora welcomes back The New World Music Band, led by flute and saxophone virtuoso Gabriel de David, on Saturday, September 7th at 7:00pm. A sparkling and white wine will preceded the performance at 6:30pm.

The New World Music Band is back at the museum for another fabulous night of lively Caribbean jazz. Get up and dance to some of the hottest live salsa in the Orlando area, played by some of Orlandos most talented Latin jazz musicians. The New World Music Band features a quartet of guitar, drums and percussion, all led by Gabriel de David on flute and saxophone.

The Help & Healing for Parents of Estranged Adult Children is a monthly support group meeting at the Simpson Farmhouse on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6:00 PM. Join with other adults to share insights, greater understanding and ideas on grieving and healing. Moderated discussion format is loosely based upon the book Done with the Crying, by Sheri McGregor, M.A.
