Description:
Glen McClures photographs forge a connection between the subject and the viewer. For this exhibition, Glen and a team of four created portraits of random people encountered in parking lots, on sidewalks and at the beach entrance to the Chesapeake Bay during a September 29, 2018 visit to the Ocean View neighborhood. With over 60 solo exhibitions since 1997, Glens work can be found in collections at the Chrysler Museum of Art, the Mariners Museum, the Taubman Museum of Art and in numerous private collections.

In celebration of its 25th birthday, Nauticus is bringing ALBESILA Luminarium by Architects of Air to Downtown Norfolk.
This massive labyrinth will immerse you in vibrant color as you walk through its 27 egg-shaped domes with interconnected, winding tunnels. ALBESILA will be located on the MacArthur Center Green at the corner of Freemason Street and Monticello Avenue.
Tickets are available on-site for $6. A limited number of $10 Advance Booking tickets that give priority access at a specified time (reducing wait time) are available online only.

Slover Library Foundation and Virginia Arts Festival are pleased to present: Dance Theatre of Harlem From Black and White to Living Color, on view from April 15 to May 7, 2019 at Slover Library in Norfolk. This exhibition chronicles the first fifty-years of Dance Theatre of Harlem, the legendary ballet company and school based in Harlem, New York. Curated by former Dance Theatre of Harlem dancer Judy Tyrus, Dance Theatre of Harlem From Black and White to Living Color displays sixty-three photographs from the companys archive, some never seen before, in black and white and in color.

Taste of India is one of the largest Asian Indian Festivals in Virginia attracting about 7,000 to 10,000 people each year. It is a collaborative effort of hundreds of Indians living in Hampton Roads to share the heritage with residents of Hampton Roads. It is one of the most popular cultural, single-day events organized by any ethnic group in the region.

This years theme is Rivers: The Lifelines of India. The 13th annual event will include: lively entertainment with colorful Bollywood and classical dances, a yoga demonstration, a local dance competition along with kid carnival games. In addition to Indian cuisine, there will be vendor booths featuring Indian clothes and handcrafts. Sponsorship and exhibiting opportunities are still available.
