San Tomas Aquino Road Bikeway Community Meeting

This purpose of this meeting is to present DOTs draft San Tomas Aquino Road bikeway design to area residents and solicit their input. The project would install buffered bike lanes between Payne Avenue and 200ft north of Latimer Avenue (.65 miles) as part of the 2019 Pavement Maintenance Program. Allocating space for bike lanes would require a lane reconfiguration and/or some parking removal.

Lucretia Avenue Bikeway Project Community Meeting

The City of San Jos Department of Transportation is leading an effort to repave and install bike lanes on Lucretia Avenue between Story Road and Tully Road. This project requires a lane reduction between Hearthstone Way and Owsley Avenue, which will calm traffic and provide enough width to install the bike lane. Preparation work on Lucretia Ave is expected to begin in early May. Repaving and striping work are scheduled for summer and fall. At this meeting, DOT will explain the project and ask for input from area residents.

It's the first Community Day of the new bloom season! Please join us as we ensure that complete care is provided for all 4,000 rose bushes! Because the blooms are a tad late this year, there is just a bit of deadheading. Therefore we will focus on composting and weeding, which will add nutrients to the soil and provide a healthy base for a long season of rose growth!

Since 2003, the Bay Area's pioneering native garden tour has showcased gardens featuring California native plants. This community-based tour is free of charge to the public.

The gardens on the tour demonstrate reduced water use, reduced chemical and pesticide use, improved habitat, and the unique aesthetic appeal of gardens designed with California native plants. Our website also provides resources to help Bay Area gardeners to go native in their own gardens.

This one-day primer on energy efficiency strategies intended for building professionals familiar with the basic concepts who are interested in an update on new and emerging technologies and controls. This class will address a wide range of opportunities that can be applied to most commercial facilities and will build from no- and low-cost opportunities to deep energy retrofits. This class will also include modules on utility incentives, financial return calculations, interactive measures, incremental cost opportunities, and operations and maintenance considerations as well as short modules on occupant behavior programs, renewables and demand response. While all strategies presented will be relevant to existing buildings, these same approaches could also be applied to new building designs.
